Renni was indeed the perfect addition to our family. As the months went by we began to realize behavioral issues that we were unable to correct ourselves. Her energy/excitement level was through the roof. We have a RV in which we take many family vacations with our 2 dogs.We were at Lake Tahoe on the beach, Renni seen an elderly man walking down the beach and without noticed she ran frantically at him and jumped up to his chest, almost knocking the man down. Although she is very sweet and she means well, her excitement level at all times placed us and the people around us in an unpleasant atmosphere. Just getting up in the morning and feeding her became an unpleasant experience.
She was too excited to do simple commands such as sit and play fetch. All of our previous labs we have trained ourselves with a high rate of success, but with Renni we knew we needed helpHe sat down in our living room and we talked about dogs in general. He explained the process, including the way he trains and expectations from my wife and I. Week after week, we met with Ray one day a week. He taught me and my wife how to train Renni. After all, it is not the dog that needs all of the training, it is ME!
Following Ray's advice, the changes we began to see in Renni were absolutely unbelievable. the best advice I can give is TRUST IN THE PROCESS.It is hard work yes, but today I took Renni to the dog park and trusted her to run up to 3 children, all around the age of 5 to 7. She ran up to them, sat down, and they were petting her. The confidence and love we have for this dog now is PRICELESS! I would recommend Ray to anyone and would not trade this experience for the world.

As a veterinary professional, I am asked about behavioral correction a lot by clients. If I feel that the pet needs a structured training program, I always recommend Ray, especially for aggressive pets.Ray has trained 2 of my dogs so far and did a fantastic job. My first experience with his work was with my father's dog, a lab puppy that received puppy training classes from him. His methods were very effective, positive reinforcement based, and resulted in a very well mannered dog.
I adopted a rescue dog 2 years ago, Penny, with severe separation anxiety and fear aggression which was beyond my expertise. When she started biting my husband, I called Ray for help. After just 1 session, Penny started to change. While it took consistency at home working with her, Ray gave us the tools we needed to better acclimate Penny to our home. Now, Penny loves playing with my husband and is overall very happy with little to no anxiety. She is a completely different dog, and for the better.
We adopted a new dog and again consulted Ray for training. He was very up front and honest that he felt if we continued the training methods we used with Penny, that our new pet would turn out great as well. He did not feel we needed to enroll her in another training regimen with him unless we really wanted to. Ray is very honest about the needs of each individual dog he trains or consults on.
I completely trust Ray and appreciate his candor when it comes to dog training. He is the best that I have come to know with training both aggressive dogs, as well as dogs that have other unwanted behavioral issues. If you have a dog that is having any behavioral problems, Ray is your guy.

Our dog is normally super sweet and loving, but she had a problem with barking non-stop all day and night at neighbors, kids, cars and any sounds in general happening outside. Also her out of control behavior during car rides was driving us insane. Ray has seriously been a lifesaver!
At our initial consultation, Ray saw the behavior and was able to teach us how to address and correct her properly. We saw an improvement that very night, no joke!! I was skeptical at first about how well our stubborn, 3-year-old corgi would take to dog training, but Ray was seriously amazing. After the first session all my fears were gone. Our puppy listened and respected him immediately and he showed us how to change our relationship with her so she would respect us too. He taught us so much and now we have a well behaved dog, calm car rides, easy walks and a quiet house with no more barking!!
I whole-heartedly recommend getting in touch with Ray if you're having behavior issues with your dog. Like I said, I was scared at first because I didn't know what to expect from dog training - but if you listen to Rays tips and lessons and put in the work with your dog every day, you'll get great results.

"My dog, Kenu, is a high-energy, fun loving Siberian Husky and I was having a difficult time with everyday tasks. He already knew how to sit, lay down, and shake, but still needed the finesse of a well-behaved, approachable dog. I wanted to be proud of my pup, but was mortified when he wouldn't come when called or would yank on my arm when going for a walk. Ray is a very kind, patient, and knowledgeable trainer. He knows how to give great commands and how to use body language and tone to control Kenu's behavior. Kenu and I really enjoyed our training experience with Tail of Success and I will continue to recommend Ray for his knowledge and extreme professionalism. Thank you!"

"I strongly recommend Ray from Tail of success. I was having a lot of trouble with taking my dog Buddy on walks, staying calm when guests came, and continuously barking at my neighbors. Thanks to Ray I no longer have an unruly dog!!! Ray is professional & really knows the most effective techniques to use with dogs. Buddy did a 180 just after our 1st session! I'm extremely happy & satisfied with the results. I actually look forward to taking Buddy on walks now. ☺ Thanks Tail of Success!!!"

"We took our young dog to three multi-week training sessions conducted by Ray (which says a lot in itself) and have nothing but for high praise for Ray's approach and ability to understand both dogs (and their owners!), and work with both to improve behavior. The foundation Ray helped us develop with our dog has been extremely helpful as our dog has moved from puppyhood into adolescence. Ray King is a great dog trainer (and a good guy) and we'd highly recommend that you consider using Ray to make your life with your dog more enjoyable!"

"I'd like to take the opportunity to thank Ray King for training my dog 'Chapita.' We took her to the beginner's class and [my wife and I] not knowing what to expect or thinking the worst for our dog in learning commands and other things, we were really surprised of how amazing she quickly caught on to Ray's class. We also brought her to the advance and she did great. I recommend Ray King to anyone that stops me and asks why Chapita is so well behaved and very calm American bully. My wife also had trouble with walking Chapita and [was] scared [Chapita] would pull her too hard that it would hurt my wife, but Ray also introduced us to the gentle leader and it works amazing. Ray, thanks again man!"

"Before calling Ray, our house was in total disarray due to our chaotic dogs. They failed to listen to any commands and even worse, were constantly trying to establish dominance over one another. But after Ray came out, our problems disappeared. Now we have a happy home free of worry and some very well behaved dogs."

"Don't let the cute face fool you Moses was a huge brat who would tear, chew, and bark at whoever he wanted before I took him to training classes, Ray not only showed us how to teach commands to Mo he also gave us the reasoning behind why and how a dog thinks so it was easier to be patient in our learning process. I highly recommend Ray for top notch dog training, no matter the dog size or age he works wonders! Thank you Ray!"

"When we first got Mr. J, he was very dominant and we couldn't get him to listen to anything. We love our dog, and wanted a better relationship with him, so we took him to Mr. King to help us with training. Now, not only has he graduated from training classes, but has even earned his Canine Good Citizen award from the AKC. The relationship with our dog Ray's training has given us is priceless, giving us the furry family member we could only wish for."

"Ray is an amazing Dog Trainer. After my dog killed another animal, I freaked out and was worried taking her anywhere. She is a large German Shepherd that lacked confidence especially in large crowds. She wouldn't listen and barked at every dog that walked by me. Furthermore, she loved to urinate to greet. Ray, trained my dog and kept her for 3 weeks. She improved significantly. I would recommend Ray without hesitation. He genuinely cares about dogs and resolving their issues. He follows up and makes sure the dogs are maintaining their progress. He also will work with your schedule to make dog training happen for you (early in morning or late in evening)."

"William, our now 5 month old German Shepard was a spunky and very mouthy (ouch) pup. He lived up to every alpha trait we read about. With two kids in the house, we recognized we needed help and quickly! Tail Of Success to the rescue! Ray is very knowledgeable and hands on. He taught us lots of practical skills to become the leaders William needed us to be. His approach is simple yet very effective. Ray was always available to us throughout the training process. He would return calls and texts every time we needed him. We now have a puppy that can be enjoyed by the whole family. Thanks Ray for helping us get the puppy we always hoped for!"
- The Cheshires
"Ray is incredible. He is a dog whisperer, for sure. We have a very "spirited" puppy with lots of personality and a good stubborn streak. (She's a Springer Spaniel and Poodle mix.) We needed help, and Ray came to the rescue. We have completed three sessions now, and she has shown such improvement already. As with any dog training, we have to put in the time to work with her. Ray proved to us that it doesn't take hours a day to train even a particularly stubborn puppy, just the right approach. We are so thankful to have found Ray and would recommend him to anyone."
- Anna & Robert
We were thrilled with Ray from Tails of Success! We didn't have a problem dog, just a spoiled young corgi that owned the house and everyone and everything in it. Ray taught us about how our behaviors had created our little monster and taught us how to break down the problem behaviors and replace them with new, desired behaviors. We're well on our way to having a very well mannered little girl now....no jumping on guests, no darting out the door, no chasing the cats. Now she sits and stays on command, comes when called. All of our friends have commented how much calmer she is and more pleasant to be around. We couldn't agree more! Thanks Ray!

My wife and I are retired and live out at the edge of town where many people abandon and dump dogs. We currently own 4 of these dogs we rescued. These dogs that no one else wanted had a wide range of behavior issues from needing to be potty trained to excessive barking and chewing to aggression towards strangers and other dogs.
Ray came to our home to train the dogs. I was amazing having every lesson custom tailored to our needs. He taught us how to be the leader of our dogs and eliminate their behavior problems. What I liked best is how he taught us how to train the dogs and have a better understanding of how to communicate with the dogs and get them to listen to us the first time. This has allowed the successful results from the training program to carry over long after the scheduled lessons have ended.

Ray provided exceptional dog training tips n' trick for our lil' Bear. We now have the correct tools to continue his training to see the results that we want to see out of our rescued Bear. Ray is prompt & professional to work with. I'd recommend Tail of Success to anyone that's looking for the skills necessary to achieve your best dog.

"Mistyblu has been in training since Mistyblu was 8 weeks of age. She Loves Ray King, and of course his dog Bacon.... I look forward to finishing all her education. She is a wonderful pup. She gets the mail, she gets the paper, takes the land line phone to Jim, she has learned to close the door. She has learned so much... Looking forward to more visits with Ray King..."

"Ray was able to get me to do the impossible with our stubborn bulldog fur baby. With the first lesson she was obeying basic commands which she has retained without a lot of effort on my part. I will definitely continue with advanced lessons."
- Shay Molennor
Only if I could give 100 stars. Ray is amazing!!!!!! Before we gave Ray a call we did not know what to do with our little puppy. She would potty everywhere, run out the door, chew on everything, and that was just the tip of the iceberg. Nevertheless, Ray knew what to do, and gave us the tools and confidence to succeed. The fact of the matter is that he is the best dog trainer in town! Hands down! My sister-in law spend an outrageous amount of money with another trainer (almost $1,000) just to have a miss behaved dog. Oh, and they are on top of the training, so it wasn't that they don't have any follow through with their part!
Don't think twice if you are in the market for a dog trainer! You will not regret that you called him!!!!!!!

We came to Tail of Success after our neighbor approached us when one of our dogs had tried to break down the fence in an aggressive manner. Our dogs had never been aggressive with us however since we had adopted them when they were a year old they felt threatened by strangers- humans and dogs. Ray was beyond professional and helpful, seriously this guy knows the answer to every dog related question. Our dogs now not only respect us but we can take them out of our house without worrying. All of their aggressive behavior has subsided and they love the neighborhood kids as well as the dog park. Absolutely worth the money.

I highly recommend Ray King (Tail of Success)If you need a one on one dog trainer. I have a pit bull mix who needed basic training and Ray was superb with both my dog and me. Ray assessed my dog and we began training that day. There were times when I wanted to just throw in the towel and call it quits but Ray wouldn't let me. I am so glad as I now have a well trained and happy dog. It was all well worth the time and money. So if you need a first rate dog trainer, Ray King is your man

"4 paws up" for Ray King & Tail of Success. I called Ray about a month before our puppies were born to get on the training list. After hearing such great reviews of his training from my neighbors on the Nextdoor app., I figured I better get a spot reserved. At the time we only had plans to adopt one golden doodle, however at the adoption day we ended up with a brother and sister. Ray was surprised when he showed up to see two dogs, but Ray said it wasn't a problem and got to work right away. It was important for our family to begin the training as soon as possible with the dogs. Having two young puppies with two small children I wanted to set the expectations early. One of the best things about Ray coming to the house is the family receives the same amount of training as the dogs. And all at the same time in a familiar setting. When the whole family is on the same page with the training it makes the entire experience feel natural and consistent. Ray was great about explaining what to expect from the training at each session. He took the time to not only explain what to do but why. He let us go through the motions and had every member of the family perform commands. We found his training methods very easy to follow and effective. Our golden doodles are now 4 months old and well behaved pups. I would highly recommend Ray King and Tail of Success for any new dog owner.

We highly recommend Ray for any of your training needs. We have recommended Ray to many of our friends with various training needs. We would like to share our story with everyone who is interested in an amazing trainer. We've always wanted a playmate for our american pitbull terrier Mattie. We adopted a 4 and a half month old dogo mix Opal. For about a month they were bestfriends. They played together, slept together, etc. After that however, was a different story. We dealt with an array of issues from dominance to jealousy which ultimately led to them getting into it on multiple occasions. After a few altercations Mattie would end up with open wounds on her legs while Opal didn't sustain any up until the last time. We then knew we had a serious issue on our hands that only Ray could help with. During our first visit with Ray he said that this was going to be a long process but that if we could stick it out it would be worth it in the end. During the process we had a couple of conversations about what we would do with Opal if it didn't get better but in the end he was right. After about 6 months of working with them everyday we watched their relationship evolve into a happy loving relationship. We took Ray's training advice of crate training, integrating, and the mastery of basic training commands to heart. Since then it has been a weight lifted from our shoulders and such a joy to see them together. Now they eat dinner together, sleep together and generally love on each other in any situation. Due to Ray training us as well to have the confidence in ourselves we have been able to bring in yet another pitbull mix without any issues. Ray was right, it was worth every difficult moment for us to see the results of a happy loving pack! Again, we highly recommend Ray because if it wasn't for him we would not have a well behaved pack.
